| Tausta | The initiative of the project was taken in 2007 by the Nordic countries’ national organisations within European Union of Supported Employment. The project is grounded in a prioritised area of the Nordic Council of Ministers that aims to strengthen the supply potential of persons with reduced work ability by improving the quality of services that aim to support their employment to the open labour market by means of individual-ised support over a long time span, i.e. services that are based on supported employment (SE). The Work Re-search Institute (AFI) in Norway is financed by the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration to co-ordinate the project on Nordic level, including the research. |
| Tavoite | The project’s basic acknowledgement is the need of mutual Nordic understanding of SE and its basic con-cepts in order to enable open and unbiased discussions of strengths and weaknesses of SE; to make SE more well known – and to enable comparison of experiences and results of SE in the Nordic countries. The specific aims of the project are as follows: · Based on practitioners’ experiences from inclusive work life efforts, the aim is to generate quality cri-teria that contribute to an improved Nordic understanding and standardisation of basic concepts and practices of SE and through that establish a more commonly agreed concept of SE in the Nordic countries. · To ensure more reliable documentation, better possibilities to compare statistics/results – and thereby an improved basis to ensure high quality SE-services in the Nordic countries. |
| Menetelmät/aineisto/toteutus | Each Nordic country organises a national Development Organisation with different stakeholders: job coaches, clients and employers, relevant policy makers, national EUSE organisation, and researchers. Each national Development Organisation has an identified national co-ordinator. The project organizes national workshops/focus groups among relevant stakeholder groups. Group discussions and individual interviews within stakeholder groups (such as funders) will also be carried out. Annual joint Nordic conferences with involved stakeholders are organised to discuss the results of national workshops summarised in national reports |
